Description
Woman’s dress, consisting of bodice and matching overskirt but skirt missing, in black corded silk embroidered with French jet black glass beads with flowers and leaves, and silk velvet. Bodice with standing collar, fastening centre front with buttons, fitted cuirass with extended basque edged in black beads. Three-quarter-length sleeves in velvet. Lined in blue silk with black silk factings, waistband stamped in gold ‘Merlot Larchevêque Robes & Confections'. Skirt or overskirt, flat three-quarter length at front, sides pleated into back, hem edged with beaded fringe. Lined in black silk with ties to shape bustle.
